It is beginning to feel real now. 2 weeks to D Day. Flights are booked finally, and am flying out on 6th Feb, (2 weeks today). Now the great packing saga begins. Just what do I take. On the list of suggestions are a table lamp, garlic press, reversible Phillips screwdriver, a cafetierre, it is beginning to feel a bit like Brucie's conveyor belt. Musn't forget the cuddly toy.
Have now finished work here for 2 years, due back on 1st Feb 2012, and that feels very strange. Had the first of a few leaving do's last night, and had a great time. Thank you everyone for coming.
Now it is all the last little bits to do. Have finished all the vaccinations, only had to have 8 jabs altogether, but can now fight of mad rabid dogs without fear of not having enough time to get rabies treatment. Although fighting of mad rabid dogs is not high on my list of things to achieve in Malawi. Have started the anti-malarials, and am reliably informed that I haven't gone mad yet, I didn't think I had, but would I have known, or just been deluding myself.
One last week in sunny Southampton, then down to Devon before setting of to Africa.
